How Easy is to Hack a Twitter Account

Many Twitter accounts get hacked on daily basis and in most of the cases it has been found that it is due to the negligence of the victim. There are many ways to hack into someone twitter account but the most common of all, which is being used by hackers, is sending a phishing link to the victim account. Due to many URL shorting service provider on the web it has become easier for hacker to send malicious links to the victim. Without knowing the original link, people click on the link which redirect them to a page that looks similar to twitter login page or Gmail login page or something similar page, when a person enters there login information on this page they do not login into their account but instead his/her account information get send to the hacker and there account gets hacked.

Let us show you how this happens.

  • A person gets a direct message with a link into his/her account which looks similar to this.

  • When a person clicks on the link he/she get redirected to a page which looks similar to twitter login page.
But carefully look at the URL/web address it is itwitier.com instead of twitter.com

  • Normally people don’t look at the URL and enters there login information. Which when clicked on Sign In button login information get send to the hacker and your twitter account gets hacked.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT GOT HACKED?

  1. Check your direct message folder whether any message has been send from your account to another user which you have not send.
  2. Check the tweets done by you whether there is any tweet which you have not done.
