Things to keep in mind while buying android phone

We all makes mistake while making our first purchase of something which is very new to us and purchasing your first smartphone is no exception to it and that also when it is android based. With so much of different varieties of android phone from cheap to premium price, we all do get confused which to buy. In this article we will cover some basic and most important features for android based phone without which your smartphone will not be a smartphone.

So, let’s take a look at all features one by one.

1. Display
It is the most important part of the smartphone as a common user has to interact with it whole time while dealing with his phone. There are two types of display capacitive display and a resistive display though today most smart phone come with a capacitive display but you may find some resistive display. If you find a phone with resistive display simply avoid it as you have to press hard on these type of display to get the feedback. You should settle now where below an IPS display with at least greater than 800px of resolution as this is what which defines the clarity of your screen and video play back quality.

2. Processor
It is a heart of any smartphone the healthier it is the better it works. It is what make a smartphone a real smartphone, it helps you load apps quickly on your phone. We suggest you minimum 1GHz processor, don’t go below this if you want true smartphone. It is advised to go for a dual or more better quad-core processor but these are available only in high price phone at present.

3. RAM(Random Access Memory)
It help you do multitasking on your phone, for which smartphone are known. We advise you to go for minimum 512MB of RAM don’t ever try to go below that as it may make your apps crash frequently and could even make them not openable as android itself consume a lot of RAM as compared to other OS(Windows Phone, Symbian). The more you have RAM the more you can multi-task(switch b/w apps).

4. Internal memory(Phone Memory)
Today there are lot of cheap android phone available in the market. But according to me they are of no use and totally waste of money, especialy android phones below Rs. 5000. As most of them comes with very low (256 to 512) which is quite low for an android phone. As most of the space is covered by the OS itself and suppose you have a 256MB internal memory model then you get only around 100MB free memory for yourself to install apps which is quite low. As in android when you install apps they first get installed on your internal memory after that you can transfer them to you SD card(through app). But then also a portion of app remains on your phone memory and with that little phone memory you can only install around 5-6 apps on your phone out of millions of apps available in store.

5. OS(android version)
World of mobile computing is changing at very fast pace and android OS is not any exception to it. Android is changing at very fast speed the android phone you bought today may look old you after 6-months this is the speed by which android is getting upgraded. But that speed is not maintained by manufacturer of upgrading there phone to new android specially if you have bought a not so popular brand phone. At the time of writing this article Android 4.3(kit-kat) is  the latest version of android and will be available for update from October. So, according to me you should go for android 4.0(ICS) which is not very old and similar to newer version of android. Please don't buy a android 2.3(gingerbread) phone as it is a very old android OS.

6. Camera(Optional)
It is an essential thing now a days for photography lovers like me, as you never know when you get special moment which you want to remember for long or want to share with others on your social network or somewhere else. You cannot carry your digital camera everywhere. So, at that time your phone camera comes as handy. According to me go for at least 5MP autofocus camera (you can opt for 3MP also). Go for an auto focus camera but don’t go for a fixed focus camera. As auto focus camera gives you more vivid and detailed photograph.

You should keep all this in mind while buying you first android smartphone. If you have any suggestion put them in comment section below.
