It’s a good
news for all 3G lovers and 3G enabled smartphones owners who love to surf Internet
over 3G but could not do so because of the High Data Plans of 3G and have to depend
on 2G Data Plans because of its affordability. But now it’s going to be the
thing of past; because Reliance Communication has slashed it 3G Data Plans by
50% to bring it in the line with its 2G Data Plans. Now a coustomer have to
just pay Rs 123 for a 1GB 3G Data which is almost equal to its 1GB 2G Data Plan
for which we have to pay Rs 125.
The New 3G
Data Plan will be applicable in all 3G circle it have the license to operate.
The new 3G Data Plan will be available in: Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Assam,
Mumbai, West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Jharkhand,
Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Rajasthan at present.
"Only
one-fourth of people who own 3G phones truly use for 3G services. There is huge
barrier to affordability. We are cutting the 3G prices down to the 2G data
rates," said RCom President and CEO for Wireless, Gurdeep Singh.
"Fundamentally,
it is Rs 123 to a GB of 3G which is equivalent to 2G price," he added.
RCom also
reduced prices for 2GB and 4GB pack on 3G network to Rs 246 and Rs 492
respectively, which is around 35 to 45 percent lower than its competitors'.
After
exhausting the usage limit, RCom customers will be charge 3 paise/10 kb of
data.
"In
1GB people can watch 3 full length Hindi feature film if file size is around
300 MB, can listen to 250 songs with each song being around 4 MB," Singh
said.
The New 3G Data
Plans are as follows:
- 1GB:- Rs 123
- 2GB:- Rs 246
- 3GB:- Rs 492
These new 3G
Data Plans by RCom are seen as to revolutionise the Data consumption in the country
due to their affordability and to make other operator think again about their
3G Data prices.
Previously
Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Tata Teleservices slashed their 3G and 2G data rates
by up to 90% in selected circles. But those reductions were for the usage charges
after exhausting the Data of chosen pack.
