Without knowing the original link, people click on the link which redirect them to a page that looks similar to twitter login page or Gmail login page or something similar page, when a person enters there login information on this page they do not login into their account but instead his/her account information get send to the hacker and there account gets hacked.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT GOT HACKED?

1. Check your direct message folder whether any message has been send from your account to another user which you have not send.
2. Check the tweets done by you whether there is any tweet which you have not done.
3. Review your approved connections on your Applications page at https://twitter.com/settings/applications. If you see any applications that you don't recognize, click the Revoke Access button.
